Hinduism is the religion of the world's oldest civilization. The religion has survived the test of time for thousands of year because of its foundation. The original name of Hinduism was " sanathana dharma". The eternal way of  life. The ancient Greeks were in great admiration of the people who lived on the eastern banks of the river sindhu. These people were master in every conceivable item of human culture. Unable to pronounce the word "sindhus" they called them Hindus. The thinkers of that time found a nice meaning for the word Hindu though means "Hinam Dushyanthi"- one who shuns evil. 

                                                                                   Hinduism is truly a secular religion , as it believes that all parts lead to the same goal. This quality of accommodating other culture has allowed people of different religions to live in total peace and harmony in India for centuries together. Hinduism is a way of life as it is a collection of thought of several great master over a period of time.

                                                                                    Hinduism's main book are Vedas. Just like modern science, which is a compilation of many scientists, Vedas are a collection of invaluable observations of ancient profound thinkers called rishis. Other popular   books of Hinduism are Bhagavad geeta,  Ramayan,  Mahabharath and Purans. Hinduism's main festivals are Deepavali, Holi, Rakhi, Vijaya Dashami and  Navaratri.
